The documentary tells how Israel led the vaccination against Covid-19 in the world

On Sunday, July 25, at 11 p.m., Smithsonian Channel (Claro 590 / BluTV 384) is broadcasting the unprecedented Nação Vacinada, a documentary chronicling the progress of efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in Israel.

The country was one of the first in the world to start vaccination, and in June 2021, 81% of its population was already vaccinated. Israel has also launched technologies, such as the so-called “green corridor” (or “vaccine passport”), which allowed Israelis to practice reopening the door and “returning to normal” much earlier than other countries.

Nassau Vatsinada recounts the events of just over a year into the outbreak of the epidemic in Israel through the personal stories and dramas experienced by four characters: Ronnie Jamzo, physician and CEO of Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center; Umbrella cooing, nurse; Yehoshua Pfeffer, rabbi; and Shlomi Dayan, owner of nightclubs in Tel Aviv.

The documentary follows the so-called first wave of the epidemic to the aggressive vaccination campaign that began in December 2020 and reopened the Israeli economy in April 2021, going through successive lockdowns in 2020, difficulties in convincing part of the population to get immunized, and, also, through recent confrontations between Israeli forces and Hamas.

This is an Ananey Studios production for the Smithsonian Channel. Yael LaVey, Alicia Green, and Tim Evans sign as executive producers for the Smithsonian Institution, while Orly Atlas Katz and Osnat Saraga play the same role at Selfish Studios.
