Mansha Laila also opposes and is contesting the elections

Leila had Mancha as an ally when she began her political career in Palmeiras. In 2017, when Leila launched her candidacy for the club’s deliberative council elections, Leila promoted a show at the Mancha Verde Samba School to celebrate the event.

The current president even made a financial contribution to the samba school, which in the same year was champion of the São Paulo Carnival special group. Mancha received around R$3.5 million from Crefisa in 2019 and Leila’s support was key.

The following year, she obtained a Mancha Verde membership card. The actor received the gift from Paolo Cerdán and André Guerra, the two main leaders of the association at that time.

After Laila assumed the presidency of the club, she severed her relationship with the organization. She received public criticism from Mancha leaders and reduced the samba school’s budget and stopped financial assistance with caravans and similar trips.

The relationship worsened last year. Leila Pereira said organized fans were the “cancer of Brazilian football” and obtained a protective measure against three members of Mancha Alverde: Jorge Luis Sampaio Santos, president of Mancha, Thiago Melo “Pato Roco”, vice president, and Felipe de Pereira. Matos, known as Vizenio, is another deputy.

She was subjected to threats from fake accounts during a live broadcast of the protest held by fans at her company’s door, on June 29, 2023, and in October of the same year, vandals spray-painted about 40 Crefisa stores.
