What changed in the third generation?
Spatial audio. One of the most important features of the new device is the new audio technology, which analyzes the acoustics of the environment and adapts the transcription accordingly. This allows for a more immersive audio experience, known as “spatiality.”
More powerful processor. The Echo Show 8 is now equipped with Amazon’s own AZ2 Neural Network Engine chip, which was launched alongside its bigger brother, the Echo Show 15. In addition to faster performance, this processor is designed for machine learning and better recognition of the user’s voice and face.
Central camera. The 13-megapixel camera continues, but it has changed its location and is located right in the middle of the upper frame (in the previous generation it was on the right side). This helps in automatic framing of people in video calls and also in visualization when used to monitor home, elderly and pets.
New design. From the outside, the updates are subtle. With the camera change, the volume control buttons have been moved to the right. The overall lines of the device have become smoother and the shape of the speakers behind the screen has become more rounded and projected.
