With the advancement of AI tools, it is now possible to reimagine a variety of scenarios and situations, and gaming enthusiasts are making the most of it. After getting a sneak peek at what GTA V would be like in a hyper-realistic version, it’s now the turn of its predecessor, GTA IV, to get into the experience.
It turns out that some fans have already made some videos of what GTA IV would be like in a somewhat more realistic world, using Runway Gen-3, a tool that has gained popularity among those available for use by artificial intelligence.

Niko Bellic arrives in America
The first AI-recreated video begins with one of the most iconic scenes in GTA IV: Niko Bellic’s arrival in America and his reception by his cousin Roman. In the video, we can see the characters following the same paths as in the original version of the game, but now with a more realistic level of detail.
Like others seen in the style, it’s clearly not a perfect scene, but that’s not quite the idea. In the case of GTA IV, in particular, where characters move and act in a unique way, recreating the scene was very interesting. This is mainly because they use the game’s original audio for this purpose.
After the conversation between the characters and once they get into the car, the video moves to a second part, which is the gameplay, and things become more interesting. The AI recreates driving movements in a very realistic way, bringing the feeling of driving a car through the streets of Liberty City as if it were the real world.
Billy’s Motorcycle Mission
The second AI remastered video gives a glimpse into the expansion Lost and cursed From GTA IV, it shows the beginning of a mission in which Johnny must help recover the motorcycle of Billy, the leader of the motorcycle gang The Lost MC.
Again, realism is the focus. Just like in the previous video, it first shows a cut scene and only then begins the gameplay portion. Now on top of a motorcycle, not a car. The level of immersion achieved is something players of the original GTA IV probably never imagined possible. check it out:
These Runway Gen-3 remasters provide a thought-provoking look at what a hyper-realistic remaster of GTA IV could be like. Although it’s not an official Rockstar Games creation and isn’t visually perfect, it still manages to showcase the power of AI to revitalize classics and push the boundaries of graphical realism in games. As these technologies continue to advance, we may see more projects like this in the future, which recreate ancient experiences with stunning graphics.
