Singer Vanessa Camargo has been living with panic syndrome for at least 20 years, but she only addressed the problem after participating in BBB 24. The artist was always afraid of the public’s reaction to her mental health issues, but she realized that social media promoted the idea of a space to humanize Public Figures – This openness about the topic will bring her closer to her fans.
“I belong to a generation where we had another way of seeing the artist, from a pedestal. We couldn’t show our weaknesses and vulnerabilities, we always had to be perfect, impeccable in images, in places. Imagine waking up, messy?”, She said in an interview with Quem magazine.
Panic syndrome was a very personal experience, and he did not have the courage to share it with other people outside his family circle over the course of two decades. When she realized she could inspire something negative, she decided to open up once and for all.
“When I had my first crisis, in 2004, no one talked about it. They saw me as crazy and I didn’t want people to see me that way. I hid it from the public, I hid it from everyone. This is the second time, after almost 20 years, that I realized… It was part of my role as a communicator and influencer in some way, to share with my audience a vulnerability that I was experiencing that I could contribute to other people who were experiencing it,” she reflected.
The singer tried to find a balance. Since it’s music and it really touches people, in a personal way, I thought there were no other ways to communicate. However, she realized that the more her fans connected to her life, the more she would be able to achieve her career goals.
“I have learned over time how to be more human in my professional life, to be real and at the same time set boundaries so that I can also maintain my privacy, which must be preserved,” he said.
“I think it comes down to experience, and you have to understand, ‘I’m not going to add more personal life here.’ I have that a lot as a mother, with my kids, my relationships, my family members,” she said.
The affection she received after being kicked out of Big Brother Brasil made her realize that she will always have a support network, as long as she is true to herself and her audience.
“They are the spring that lifts you up. My family, my friends, and the people I have lived with for 41 years of my life have been essential for me to be able to have this place of welcome and support.
