The UK Embassy is holding a happy hour to introduce the Consul – GPS Brasilia

The moment chosen to introduce Tony Kaye, the UK’s new deputy ambassador to Brazil, was a lively English pub-style happy hour. A relaxed evening filled with typical dishes and British music, the embassy event last Friday (27) was attended by ambassadors, members of the exchange and other officials, media and digital influencers.

Guests were treated to British classics such as Fish and chipsburgers, Shepherd’s bag – a typical casserole – as well as various drinks including Pimms – a gin-based drink with fruit and herbs – and traditional beer. There was also London’s iconic red phone box, providing nice photos to mark the moment.

British diplomat Tony Kay was sworn in in July and his wife Tehenna Davison, a former minister and former member of the British Parliament, arrived in Brazil.

He has worked in Hong Kong, Eastern Europe, Canada, North Africa and the Middle East. Prior to Brazil, Kay served as Deputy Director for the Middle East at the UK Foreign Office (FCDO) and was also Consul General to Israel.
