Corinna accuses Maduro of kidnapping members of his team – 09/29/2024 – The World

The Venezuelan opposition denounced on Sunday (29) the kidnapping of two members of the security team of opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, including her head of security, who had already been arrested before the presidential elections on July 28.

After the re-election of dictator Nicolas Maduro for a third term, which the opposition viewed as a fraud, there was a wave of arrests of people from Corinna’s inner circle.

“Maduro and his regime are committing another crime. Two honorable men, fathers of families – Melsiades Ávila and Edwin Moya, whose mission is to protect our security – have been kidnapped. Both of them carried out their responsibility in an exemplary manner, always aware of the risks that this would entail.” This entails, in the face of the tyranny that the world today classifies as a corrupt and criminal regime,” Maria Corina wrote on her social networks.

According to the Vente Venezuela party, founded by María Corina, Avila and Moya were kidnapped this weekend by members of the regime’s repressive forces. Until now, their whereabouts are not known, nor is it known how the arrests were made.

Avila served as chief of security for Machado, who has been living in hiding after being convicted of fraud in the presidential election and claiming victory for his candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who has been in exile in Spain since September 8 after an arrest warrant was issued for him.
