Brazil qualified for the women’s beach volleyball final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, as the duo of Ana Patricia Duda defeated their rivals Mariavi and Clancy from Australia in two sets to one in a surprise on Thursday afternoon, 8.
The Brazilian Volleyball Federation (CBV) celebrated the duo’s victory on its Instagram page.
“In the final! In the decision!!! In search of gold!!!”
With this result, the Brazilians have already won the silver medal. The Brazilian team will face Melissa/Brandy from Canada in the final match, in a match that will be held on Friday, the 9th of this month, at 5:30 pm (Brasilia time).

Against the Australians, the Brazilian duo dropped their only set so far in the competition. Ana Patricia and Duda’s campaign has returned the country to an Olympic final in the sport, something that has not happened since Rio 2016, when Agatha Bednarchuk and Barbara Seixas took silver.

In the first set, a common phenomenon in disputes involving Brazilians threatened to repeat itself. The Brazilians opened the match with a 10-5 lead, but lost concentration and lost 22-20.
