Sabesp is one of the most innovative Brazilian companies, according to the Valor Econômico newspaper. The company has just won the Valor Inovação Brasil 2024 award, an initiative that highlights the most innovative organizations by economic sector and ranks 150 companies with the best innovation practices in the country. The award, organized by the newspaper and Strategy& – PwC’s strategic consulting firm – was announced on Monday night (5) during an event in São Paulo.

The companies are selected based on research that evaluates the topic in Brazilian companies. The survey produces a ranking of the 150 most innovative companies in Brazil in 25 sectors of the economy and awards the 10th place overall and the 1st in each sector. This is the 10th edition of the award.

A leader, according to Valor Inovação, in the infrastructure sector, Sabesp stands out as the company most committed to innovation in its field of activity, always focusing on efficiency. “We have a culture that encourages innovation in all areas and in all teams. Innovation is in our DNA and it ensures our prominent position in the global sanitation scenario. In all areas of the company, teams are encouraged to develop innovative projects, contributing to improving services and building a more sustainable future. “The Valor Innovation Award recognizes this continuous work,” said André Salcedo, CEO of Sabesp, who attended the award ceremony.

To arrive at the list of award-winning companies, the organizers evaluate the innovation practices of organizations operating in Brazil in various economic activities on a continuous and systematic basis, always taking into account four pillars: planning, implementation, results and recognition.

According to the organization, the criteria enhance “the assessment of organizations’ ability to ensure innovation amidst growing expectations around sustainability and the adoption of disruptive technologies (such as generative AI) based on robust strategies that take into account not only the digital aspect, but also the adaptability and transformation of workforces and business models.”
