BYD confirms new Dolphin Mini, now with five seats

BYD is introducing a new version of the Dolphin Mini, the Chinese company’s super-sized electric hatchback. Without a specific name, the news is that the configuration has been approved to carry up to five passengers, as opposed to the four of the others, and starts at R$119,800.

Furthermore, according to the brand, and in response to another customer request, the Dolphin Mini, in its five-seater version, gains 360-degree camera systems, advanced technology and a safety element found in other models from the automaker.

The system works with several cameras installed throughout the car, with images displayed on the multimedia screen that can be viewed at the same time, giving the driver more safety and comfort while driving, maneuvering and parking.

The latest member of the Dolphin Mini family is built on the same platform as its four-seater sibling, the e-Platform 3.0. The model is available in green with a light blue interior, black with a dark blue interior, pink with a pink interior, and white with a choice of dark blue or pink.

The small car is 3,780 mm long, 1,715 mm wide, 1,580 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and a trunk capacity of 230 liters. It uses an electric motor mounted in the front of the car with a power of 75 hp and a torque of 13.5 kg-f. The autonomy, according to the Inmetro Conpet Seal standard, is 280 kilometers on a single charge.

Among the equipment, the features include a digital instrument panel with a 7-inch screen, wireless charging for smartphones, a driver’s seat with electric adjustments, digital air conditioning, a face-to-face key, and the famous 10.1-inch rotating multimedia center with wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

In terms of safety, in addition to the 360-degree camera system, it comes with full LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, traction and stability control, brake and hill assist, rear and twilight parking sensors, six airbags, cruise control, and electronic parking brakes with automatic hold.
