MC Ryan SP, 23, was forced to cancel his international tour after the US consulate denied his work visa. In a video shared on social media, the artist explained the situation and apologized to his North American fans for the impossibility of performing scheduled shows.
“I want to send a message to the people in the US. I’m at the consulate with my team and I got turned down because of security. My work visa was denied, but I have a tourist visa and it’s for 10 years. I just failed, it’s the biggest disaster,” MC Ryan SP said in his video.
The singer spoke of his frustration, saying: “My work visa was denied and I won’t be able to perform in the US. I’ve waited a long time to come back because the first time I went was an amazing experience. The biggest draw, honest talk! I dream that the trout will be lost to third parties, but what am I going to do.”
Despite the setback, Ryan SP stated that the tour is still going ahead, but the shows may be postponed. “I think we may have to reschedule everything. I will be there, but still… I’ve been here for 4 hours, I woke up early… In fact, I didn’t even sleep,” said the singer known as Tubarão do Funk.
In a moment of desperation, Ryan SP also recorded one of the producers crying over the situation. “I warned you that things were going to go wrong. I felt like we were setting a ‘quota’ here to please the contractors on the other side. I felt like that and I told them we were just going to shoot the video and ‘work’ on the album. My producers are crying. I can imagine their pain, how many people don’t want to go to the US, this is a joke, I don’t even know what to tell the guys.”
The artist was scheduled to perform next Sunday (28) at Royal in Boston, and on August 2 at Celine Orlando. The cancellation of the events caused great disappointment among fans and the Ryan SP team.
