The former US president said during a rally in Michigan that the Chinese president is a “nice guy.”
Former US President Donald Trump (R) said on Saturday (July 20, 2024) during a rally in Michigan that Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of support over the shooting attack – which he said was targeted on July 13.
I got along very well with President Xi. [Jinping], Who’s a nice guy. He wrote me a nice letter the other day when he found out what had happened. Most of the leaders did the same thing, even the ones who didn’t like what I was doing. But they knew it was necessary, and the joke was ready, right? But they wrote me, and almost everyone wrote me notes. It was nice. No, I get on well with all of them. That’s good.“Trump announced.
The speech came during Trump’s first public event since the assassination attempt. The former US president previously appeared for the first time in public, on July 15, during the Republican convention.
At the event, Trump was seen wearing a white bandage over his right ear, where he was shot. The item became a campaign symbol. Republican supporters began covering the body in solidarity with Trump. The former president chose to wear a beige bandage on Saturday (July 20).
