People close to US President Joe Biden said he is upset by what he sees as a campaign by Democratic leaders to force him to withdraw from the race. The New York Times reported this information on Friday (19).

According to the report, Biden considers Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, the main instigator, but he is also angry with former President Barack Obama, who, according to him, acts as a “puppet master” behind the scenes for the Democrats.

Pressure is mounting on Biden to leave the Democratic Party.

Obama has spoken to Biden only once since the June presidential debate, when pressure from allies began to push Biden to drop out. He also “made clear,” according to the newspaper, that the decision whether or not to abandon the candidacy was Biden’s.

But the Obama-Biden feud is nothing new. According to the New York Times, the current president has been holding a grudge since Obama gently dissuaded him from running for president in 2016, handing the Democratic nomination to Hillary Clinton, who lost to Donald Trump.

Before becoming president, Biden was vice president to President Obama for his entire two terms, from 2009 to 2017.
