Long Beach Clean Up, a volunteer organization founded in 2020 by Matthew Crosta to clean up beaches along the Northeast coast of the United States.

Since then, the company has found items as diverse as an armchair, an exercise bike and a criminal’s electronic ankle bracelet in the sand.

“We don’t find out the stories behind them because they just show up in the morning, but I’m sure they’re fun kids,” Matthew told the NY Post.

The group also looks at messages left in bottles each year. Some of them go on long journeys.

Last year, Krosta’s team removed 1.2 tons of trash from the beaches.

So far this year, they have disposed of 840 kilograms of rubbish, including broken electronic anklets.

“It shouldn’t be someone taking it away,” commented Matthew.
