Argentina 1 x 0 Colombia | Best Moments | Final | Copa America 2024
James Rodriguez has been named the best player of the 2024 Copa America. Feeling down at finishing second in the tournament, Colombia’s No. 10 took to the stage at the end-of-tournament awards ceremony. The Sao Paulo player scored a goal and provided six assists.
CONMEBOL also handed out other individual awards after the match, which saw Argentina win their 16th title in the tournament’s history. The title’s top scorer, Lautaro Martinez, was the Copa America’s top scorer, with five goals scored in six matches.
The Inter Milan player, from Italy, only came on in extra time – he came on as a substitute in four of the six matches in the competition – and was the hero of the victory. He received a perfect pass from Lo Celso at the start of the second half of extra time that beat the Colombian goalkeeper.
The award for best goalkeeper went to Emiliano “Dipo” Martinez, also from Argentina. He conceded only one goal throughout the tournament, in a 1-1 draw with Ecuador in the quarter-finals.
