A video of US President Joe Biden purporting to resign due to ill health is circulating on social media. And #fake.

The fake post already has 70 thousand views on X (formerly Twitter) and is titled: “Now: Biden Says President May Resign for Medical Reasons”.

Through Google reverse image search, The True or false He discovered that the video was actually an excerpt from an interview Biden gave to CNN with Vice President Kamala Harris. On December 3, 2020 (Check it out here)

The Democratic Party won the election, i.e., The speech in the video is old — before the 2024 election — and removed from the context of trolling internet users.

In a segment of the interview shared on social media, journalist and broadcaster Jake Tapper questioned Biden’s biggest surprise at working with Harris, who campaigned against him before becoming his running mate.

In response, the then-president-elect says they share the same philosophy of government, comparing their relationship to Barack Obama’s stint as vice president from 2009 to 2017. Watch the speech that led to the fake news:

By citing a possible resignation for health reasons, the Democrat gave an example of a situation that embodies the moral principles established with Obama. Therefore, it is false that the President is considering resigning from office in 2024, giving up running for re-election.
