The Postgraduate Course in Religious Sciences encourages an international symposium on the 24th and 25th

The Postgraduate Program in Religious Sciences (PPCir) at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) promotes the International Seminar: World Politics and Diplomacy – Philosophy, Literature and Minority Differences. The event takes place on Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th and involves professors from UFJF and other institutions in Brazil and abroad, such as the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), the University of Strasbourg (France) and the Pontifical Catholic Church. University of Chile. Activities will take place at Constantinou & Eventos Hotel located at Rua Santo Antonio, 765, Centro.

The program includes round tables on topics such as philosophy, diplomacy, literature, minority differences, world politics, ethics, and deconstruction. Activities start on the 24th at 10 am, and end on the 25th at 8 pm.

This event is organized directly by Center for Religious Studies on Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy, coordinated by Professor Jimi Sudario Cabral. “The idea is to show the differences of African minorities in the diaspora in teaching humanities research. Through this event, we want to reflect on the multiplicity of life and reaffirm the university’s connection with these cultures, with literature, Candomblé and other religions.”

One of the highlights of the symposium was the presence of May-Vivien de Auxum at the opening table. The discussion is scheduled to take place on the 24th of this month at 10 am. The nun is the mother of the indigenous Terreiro de Umbanda Vovó Cambida do Cruzeiro das Almas. Researchers like Andrea Bautista, associate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; Gerard Bensoussan, Professor Emeritus at the University of Strasbourg; and Almires Martins Machado (Guarani Terena), professor at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA).

The Graduate Program in Religious Sciences at the State University of Pará (Uepa) is also responsible for organizing this event. The initiative is supported by: the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Coordination of the Improvement of Personnel in Higher Education (Capes), the Latin American Association of Literature and Theology (Aalite), and the periodical Journal of Tolstoy Studies – a publication of the Tolstoy Society of North America.
