ShA 38-year-old man, who entered a restricted area to retrieve his keys that he dropped while riding a steel roller coaster in an amusement park in Ohio, US, was seriously injured after the carousel collided with him.
According to Kings Island Park, in a statement reported by the Associated Press, the man entered a fenced area and was injured on Wednesday night.
The victim was found lying on the ground with serious injuries, but no details were revealed. The man is still in hospital.
According to Mason police, the victim dropped his keys while riding the Banshee Roller Coaster, an inverted roller coaster where the train hangs from the tracks, then entered a restricted area to retrieve them and crashed into the roller coaster.
According to the park’s website, Banshee is the tallest inverted steel roller coaster in the world and reaches a speed of 109 kilometers per hour.
The roller coaster has been closed and will remain closed while the investigation is conducted. No other injuries were reported.
The park is located in the city of Mason, which is about 38 kilometers northeast of Cincinnati, Ohio.
