Hey Vasco The team arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday afternoon, about 24 hours after being defeated by Juventude in Caxias do Sul, in a match held within the tenth round of the Brazilian League. Coach Alvaro Pacheco, who is living his last moments at the club, was present with the delegation.

The team would initially return to Rio shortly after the match, but an attack on an armored car closed Caxias do Sul Airport, forcing Vasco to adjust his schedule. The team conducted light training at the hotel in the morning and then boarded a charter flight in the early afternoon.

There was a protest from a few fans who went to the airport and chanted “You have to respect the shirt!” and “Team Zombies!”. The players and technical staff did not pass through the main concourse and headed directly to the track, where the bus was waiting for them. Police planning at the site has been reinforced.
