In total, 54 projects from the Mais Ciência program are presented during the 16th Fluminense Scientific and Technological Start-up Conference (Conflict), promoted by the State University of Norte Fluminense d’Arcy Ribeiro (Uenf), the Instituto Federal Fluminense (IFF) and the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) to date. One of the participating professors is UFF marine geographer, Eduardo Bolhuis. For him, Mais Ciência has reached an important level of maturity. “We have reached a point where the program has come to know what actually improves municipal requirements. We will always be ready to participate. Mais Ciência coordinator, Leonora Tinoco, noted that the program has been ongoing since 2018 and this is the fourth call for proposals. “In collaboration with Mais Ciência, we have three other scholarship programmes: More Science in School, Start-ups and Creative Economy. This represents an investment of more than two and a half million reais, including the four programmes. With each notice, the projects are developing better and more In connection with the reality of the municipality, Leonora explained: “Our perspective is to launch a new notice in the second half of this year.”
The conference aims to present research developed in scientific initiation programs and graduate programs at universities and to discuss topics related to science in a regional event of great importance. Lectures, oral presentations and banners are planned, in addition to cultural activities. In this edition, the work is presented in four thematic themes based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.
