A “skater” bear attacked her trainer during a circus performance in the city of Obninsk, western Russia, last Saturday (the first). The animal, named Dzhema, was one of the attractions at the “Happiness Show” held at the Mash Circus.
A video clip circulating on social media shows owner Oleg Krasov guiding the animal. She slides on her skates until she is on all fours and runs towards the man. Then Dzhema threw him to the ground and began delivering blows. Children in the audience screamed and were escorted from the venue. Foundation employees went to Krasov to help him restrain the bear. The information was published in the British newspaper “Daily Mail”.
Despite the video’s aggression, the circus ensures that this type of interaction between the two is common. “She did not hurt him. In fact, she was just joking. These are her natural actions. Dzima loves him,” the post read. According to local media, the man did not suffer serious injuries.
