A 5.9 magnitude earthquake strikes central Japan

An earthquake with an approximate magnitude of 5.9 struck Ishikawa Prefecture, on the Noto Peninsula, in Japan. The epicenter was about 10 kilometers deep and occurred at 6:31 a.m. local time. According to the country’s meteorological agency, no tsunami warnings have been issued.
