Fans camp out on the gridiron for the band’s first show in Brazil

Alyssa Bonomi, 25, and her boyfriend Gabriel Zingwen, 23, occupied the other end of the fence to watch Soft Cell as well. She’s a fan, and she dragged her partner along to keep her company on the marathon. They came from Campinas, inland São Paulo. “This is my first time at a festival. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to attend, and I was nervous, but it all turned out well.” They arrived in São Paulo around 11am.

The feeling that motivated fans to strive to secure a place in the schedule is precisely the desire to attend the band’s first show. Despite a career spanning over 40 years, the duo has never had any success here. “When I heard the show was going to happen, I saved every penny to attend it. I don’t know when it will happen again. I’ve been a fan for a long time,” Alyssa said.

The woman from Recife already came to the C6 Festival in 2023, and this year is the first time for her boyfriend. “I find everything to be very different from what I’ve experienced before. Very organized and easy to navigate.” With the idea that seeing Soft Cell would be a unique (and perhaps unrepeatable) experience, they researched ticket prices to save as much money as possible when attending. “I am a teacher and I pay half, and my friend is a student,” she celebrates saving again.

Soft Cell performs at the MetLife Tent at 7:20 p.m.
