According to the British tabloid “Daily Mail”, the 36-year-old man crashed a car into the front of a house in the Hainault neighborhood. Then, with a sword in hand, he attacked passers-by, including two police officers and a teenager. After the attack, he was chased and arrested.

On social media, London Mayor Sadiq Khan lamented what had happened and thanked the emergency services for “running towards the danger and paying tribute to the extraordinary courage shown by the police at the scene”. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
