Amazon and Lionsgate have signed a content deal in the UK.
The partnership will see a wealth of content from Lionsgate and Starz offered on the Amazon MGM+ streaming device. Strange, book of power And Snake Queen. This is the third installment in a series of content deals that MGM+ recently signed with Lionsgate for Europe and Latin America.
Lionsgate+ subscribers who join via Prime Video channels in the UK will now be able to access the MGM service from April. At the end of May, the MGM service will be rebranded as MGM+ in the UK to align with the rebranding underway in Europe, Latin America and the US. MGM+ is currently available in 31 countries and is one of the most subscribed Prime Video channels worldwide. According to Amazon. “MGM+’s expansion into the UK reinforces Amazon’s commitment to investing in and expanding the MGM+ channel internationally, while also strengthening its content offering to subscribers,” said Josh McIvor, global managing director of MGM+.
“Adding an all-new premium television series,” said Michael Katzer, president of MGM+ International foreign And power, “Along with many blockbuster films, this will allow MGM+ to continue its development as a premium international streaming service.”
Chase Brisbin and Katherine Eikenberry Jones negotiated the deal on behalf of Lionsgate.
