Before singing “Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” a song he collaborated on with Michael, he talked about his friend.
“This is a very special day today. I wondered how I would handle it. George Michael was one of Britain's most wonderful singer-songwriters. He was my friend and inspiration and today he would have turned 60, so I want to dedicate this song to his memory and all the songs he left us, and they are so beautiful.” “This is for you, George,” Elton said, moved to tears.
“Prone to fits of apathy. Problem solver. Twitter buff. Wannabe music advocate.”
