A reporter uses a condom to protect the microphone from the American hurricane – Entertainment

Reporter Kayla Galler found an unusual way to protect her microphone while covering Hurricane Ian in Florida, US. She covered the device with a condom.

“A lot of people ask me what's that in my microphone. It's exactly what you're thinking of: a condom. It helps protect the microphone, as it can't get wet,” the reporter explained.

He added: “There are strong winds and heavy rain, so you have to do what you have to do: put a condom on the microphone.”

Although its intensity decreased, the storm caused heavy rains and strong winds reaching speeds of 185 kilometers per hour (with gusts reaching speeds of up to 240 kilometers per hour), which led to “catastrophic” floods and power outages in the area, according to local authorities.

Jeff Butera, a journalist with WZVN-TV, mocked his colleague's stance.

“We practice safe hurricane coverage,” he wrote on Twitter while sharing a photo of Galler's microphone.
