– Dean of the Department of Culture and Education of the Roman Curia, who will hold the conference “Faith, Science and the Catholic University in the 21st Century.”
Theologian and university professor Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça is also considered one of the most original voices in contemporary Portuguese literature and is recognized as a prominent Catholic intellectual. His works include poetry, essays, and plays.
A specialist in biblical studies, the relationship between Christianity and culture forms the main focus of his texts, where, as a theologian and religious thinker, he seeks to discover spiritual life in the most forgotten places, at the same time encouraging the Church to be more relevant. Present and more important.
The relationship between Christianity and culture is recurring in his texts. His works are highly respected in Portugal and are increasingly translated and published abroad. He has already won several literary awards, which recognize his career as a writer and highlight his role in the world of culture.
