The incident happened around 7:30pm at Bayside Waters Park. An FAA spokesperson told CNN that the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza V35 plane crashed after an engine failure.

After the collapse, which mainly affected one of the properties, a fire broke out and took control of the place. Four trailers caught fire and were evacuated. Initially, it was reported that there were no casualties, but in a preliminary report the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the deaths. There were no other passengers on board the plane other than the pilot.

Local Fire Chief Scott Ehlers said crews were trying to control hot spots and reach the bodies of the dead, Ehlers added. Citizen Stephen Askari told the station that he heard the sound of an explosion that shook his apartment. “The next thing you know you see a huge plume of smoke,” he announced.
