Exploring science as a family – Conexão UFRJ

The House of Science at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in Botafogo, will promote #PartiuHolidays and science for kidsOn January 27 and 28 from 10 am to 1 pm, entry is free. These events will provide interactive experiences for all ages. Monitors will be responsible for providing advice and playing educational games with participants. There will be activities exploring the physics of the human body, with soap bubbles and sensory experiences for children.

During two days of programming, passwords will be distributed for the best organization of the queue in order to allow everyone to participate in the promoted actions. It is important to note that the place does not have parking. However, next to Casa da Ciência there is a shopping center car park for those who prefer to travel by car. For those who choose public transport, there are connections to almost the entire city in the surrounding area. Event organizers are also asking everyone to bring a bottle or glass to contribute to environmental sustainability. This way less waste will be produced.

Opened in 1995, the UFRJ Cultural Center for Science and Technology, known as Casa da Ciência, works in the field of popularization of science, seeking interdisciplinarity and debate between different fields of knowledge.

In addition to these events and in partnership with the Museum of Interactive Physics (Ladif – Educational Laboratory of the Institute of Physics), from UFRJ, the House of Science is also holding the exhibition Se Liga, São Elas na Physics until 6/30 – admission is free. The place is open Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, working hours are from 10 am to 5 pm.
