Without signing with Band, Vasco signed with Grupo Globo to broadcast Carioca games as a host
As in 2023, Band will acquire the broadcasting rights for Campeonato Carioca 2024. However, Vasco did not sign with the broadcaster and closed with Grupo Globo. This way, all of the opponent's home matches will be shown on the country's largest channel. One of them, in fact, will be against Flamengo, at the beginning of February.
Despite the signing, Grupo Globo does not plan to show the clashes on open television. The clashes will soon be broadcast on SporTV (closed) and Premiere (pay-per-view) channels. A confirmed date has not been set for Carioca's Vasco x Flamengo Classic, but is scheduled to take place between February 3 and 4. Journalist Gabriel Fakir released the information.
Return from Globo to Carioca
Grupo Globo's channels have not shown Rio de Janeiro State matches for four years. In 2020, the broadcaster went on a collision course with Flamengo and terminated the contract during the pandemic. Mingau rejected a lower bid for broadcast rights, with the broadcaster claiming it was cutting costs during the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus. For this reason, Faraj and the channel are still fighting in court to this day.
Flamingo games transfer
Therefore, apart from the Vasco x Flamengo match, other Rubro-Negro matches will be broadcast by Band (open TV), Bandsports (closed TV) and GOAT, online. However, as usual, Coluna do Fla brings all the emotions, live, on YouTube, from 100% of Mengão's matches this season.
With narration by Rafa Pinedo, comments by Tulio Rodriguez and reports by journalists from Column, noOur channel will broadcast all Campeonato Carioca, Copa do Brasil, Libertadores da América and Brasileirão matches. Take the opportunity to subscribe and activate notifications.
