A stingray was found with brutal bites on both sides of its body – it showed

A stingray was found dead on a beach on the Australian island of Kagari, with two large bites on the side of its body. A photo of the incident was shared on Facebook and served as a warning to swimmers who wish to venture into the region's seas.

In an interview with Yahoo News Australia, environmental sciences professor Daryl Macfie, from Bond University, ventured a guess as to what might have happened to the sea creature in question.

“There is a wide range of shark species, many of which like to eat stingrays,” the academic explained.

McPhee adds that situations of this kind are not inherently rare. “Most shark species are opportunistic,” he explained. For the professor, if the ray had not reached the coast, the predator would have consumed it entirely.

He also took advantage of the situation to warn local tourists: “The only reason there aren't a lot of shark bites [na região] This is because there simply are not many people swimming there. So the longer you swim, the more bites you can expect to see.

Yahoo News Australia confirms that authorities do not recommend spending leisure time in the area.
