Fapergs launches four notices that will invest R$39 million in innovation and research

The State Research Support Foundation of Rio Grande do Sul (Fapergs), linked to the Secretariat of Innovation, Science and Technology (Sict), has launched four notices to promote research and innovation, with a total value of R$39 million. The event took place on Friday afternoon (8/12), at the Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari (Caff) hall, in Porto Alegre.

At the opening, Sict’s Director of Innovation Environments, Everaldo Daronco, highlighted the importance of the partnership between the two institutions: “We are at a very good moment in terms of investing in the implementation of public policies. Moreover, these resources are beginning to spread within the state, with a more equal distribution.” Throughout Rio Grande do Sul.

Fabergus CEO, Odair Delagostin, recalled a bit of the history of the institution, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2024, and celebrated the amount of public resources invested in research and innovation. “In the last two years, we have received the largest historical investment from Fapergs: R$96.2 million in 2022 and R$82.9 million in 2023,” he stressed.

Subsequently, Delagostin, together with Directors Mauro Mastella (financial administrator) and Rafael Rösler (scientific technician), presented the four notifications that were launched: the Gaucho Researchers Program, worth R $ 25 million; New/Newly Appointed Physician Grant worth R$5 million; Fapergs/Fapesp cooperative, R$7.5 million; and assistance in organizing scientific events in the amount of R$ 1.5 million (read more about the notices below).

At the beginning of next year, Fapergs should announce two new calls for proposals – Tecnova III and Doutor Empreendingor – which together will invest more than R$37.7 million in innovation projects.
