GM POS offers new car and extra wages to lay off 1,200 employees at three plants in SP | Paraíba Valley and region

GM workers agree to the company’s point-of-sale proposal

The PDV will be offered to workers at the three GM units in São Paulo state until next Tuesday (12) and provides for the payment of additional wages and a new car worth R $ 85,000. see below:

For those who have worked at GM for 1 to 6 years:

  • Six salaries paid
  • An additional payment of R$15,000
  • The medical plan is paid for three months or a payment of R$6,000

For those who have worked at GM for over 7 years:

  • Paying five salaries
  • Additional payment of R$85,000 or an Onix Hatch ls
  • Paid medical plan for six months or payment of R$12,000

In all cases, the automaker’s proposal also provides for job stability until May 3, 2024 for those who do not join PDV and 50% compensation for days off during the strike against layoffs, until June 30, 2024.

Furthermore, the program stipulates that for every active employee at the plant, another worker who was on paid leave will return.

The Sao José dos Campos Metalworkers Union reported that the company’s goal is to reach 830 PDV members in the Vale do Paraíba unit. He added that the proposal came as a result of negotiations between the company and the union.

The targeted number of members in São Caetano and Mogi das Cruzes is 290 and 95, respectively, according to the unions.

The Sao Jose plant employs about four thousand workers and produces the S10 and Trailblazer models. At Mogi das Cruzes, there are 480 employees who manufacture spare parts. In São Caetano, where the Spin, Tracker and Montana models are manufactured, more than 7,000 workers work.

GM did not comment on the opening of the point of sale until the report was published.
