city Sao Paulo São Paulo appears in the world’s top 30 cities for 2024. The rankings have been done by the world’s best cities, with the capital São Paulo placed in 27th place – ahead of Sydney, Copenhagen and Rio de Janeiro.
The list was compiled by Resonance, a global tourism, economics and urban development consultancy that every year publishes a ranking of the best cities in the world.
To determine each position, they use a combination of statistics from 400 cities around the world and user ratings. Three main factors are taken into consideration: livability, livability and prosperity.
On the friendliness list, Sao Paulo came in ninth place. But in terms of prosperity, the capital ranks 161st.
The site also highlights the municipality’s cultural influences. “Brazil’s largest city, home to more than 23 million São Paulo residents, has cultural influences from several countries, such as Japan, Italy, Lebanon and France,” the listing reads.
“This whole combination creates a daily life that is among the most vibrant and multifaceted on the planet,” adds the world’s best cities. Therefore, the capital came in fifth place on the list in terms of culture and sixth in terms of restaurants.
Rio de Janeiro also appeared on the list. The capital of Rio de Janeiro ranked 63rd in the rankings, which highlights its beaches, nightlife and music.
The first place ended up going to London, which also occupied this position in the list of cultural and educational performance.
