Sesa participated in the 2023 Results Symposium – Strengthening State Management of Sustainable Service System Project

The Department of Health of Ceará (Sesa) was present at the 2023 Results Seminar – SUS State Administration Strengthening Project, which marks the end of the activities carried out in the three-year period 2021-2023. The event was held in Brasilia on the 17th.

This initiative is a partnership between the National Council of Health Secretaries (CONAS), the Department of Health and the Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz (HAOC) and is part of the Institutional Development Support Program of SUS (Proadi-SUS) to support the planning strategy of the State Health Departments for the next four years of the government. The project aims to exchange good practices between the 27 government health departments in Brazil.

The symposium witnessed the end of the activities that were implemented in the three-year period 2021-2023

Sesa’s Institutional Development and Planning Coordinator, Julia Rodrigues, represented Sesa at the event and assesses that progress has been made in managing SUS in the state. “We were able to generate knowledge through the digital learning platform that the project made possible through HAOC. Through this tool, those who participated in the SUS Enhancement Project were able to take virtual courses that spoke exactly to the moment we were in, in building the project. Throughout the year, the SUS State Governance Strengthening Project supported the process of preparing Sesa plans. “We adopted a methodology that combined the construction of three plans adapted to our reality,” explains Julia Rodriguez.

Among the activities was holding strategic planning workshops for 2027, which began in June and concluded in September. The aim was to plan strategies to improve health services for the next four years, and to create a strategic agenda of commitments to strengthen the unified health system in the state.
