A boy, just two years old, left his home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the United States, accompanied by two family dogs, in the woods after hours while sleeping next to one of the dogs, using it as a “furry pillow,” state police said on Thursday, 21.
“She laid down and used one of the dogs as a pillow, and the other dog lay down next to her and kept her safe,” Lt. Mark Giannunzio said. “It’s a really great story.”
The forces used drones and police dogs in the search, while local police and residents from Michigan and Wisconsin helped search for the girl in the remote wooded area. Officers were called to a home in the Feithorn area of Menominee County around 8 p.m. on Wednesday after the girl walked away from the family home.
At about midnight, the girl was found by a citizen on a quad bike about 3 miles from her home, state police said. Giannunzio said medical staff examined the girl and she appears to be in good health. Feithorn is a village located east of the Wisconsin state line and about 60 miles southwest of Marquette, Michigan.
