New songs may be on the way

The Instagram of Urban Sound Studios in Oslo shared a photo of Axl Rose and Slash, the lead singer and guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, respectively, at the scene. The post raised suspicions that new music from the band might be on the way (via injury).

“We had the opportunity to spend some time with these two rock legends in the studio today. Very cool guys! (The two in the middle…). The band wanted a nice studio with a variety of speakers and headphones to listen to new mixes before heading to Glastonbury.” The Audio Amazing!”, the post’s caption announced.

The group’s final release was the Hard Skool EP, released in February last year, with four tracks, two singles and two live versions:

  • Don’t Cry (Live)
  • you are crazy (live)
  • Difficult school
  • ABSUDE

It was the first release by the original group, Axl Rose, Duff McKagan and Slash, in 29 years. The last Guns N’ Roses album was Chinese Democracy, released in 2008, which featured only Axl Rose from the original members of the group.

Guns N’ Roses performed at Glastonbury this past weekend

The band headlined the second day of the UK Festival. The band performed last Saturday (24). Guns surprised the audience by calling Dave Grohl, frontman of the Foo Fighters, to the stage to play Paradise City, the song that ended the show. “There aren’t a lot of guitars,” Axl Rose declared of Grohl.

Noel Gallagher, known as one of the leaders of Oasis, criticized the band’s choice to headline the second day because it is an American band. He called the decision “crazy shit” (trans Rolling Stone).

“When you think of all the great British artists who have released albums in the past year, having Guns N’ Roses headlining on Saturday is crazy,” the rocker told the Daily Stars Wired.
