247 – Petrobras has begun discussions about a new investment plan aimed at expanding the production capacity of its refineries. According to the newspaper the worldInvestments are being discussed within the scope of the state-owned company’s business plan and could lead to an increase in the region’s expected resources which include refining and natural gas, estimated at US$9 billion until 2027.
The increase in refining operations is part of the government’s strategy for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to prevent the sale of assets and the breakup of the state-owned company, as well as lower fuel prices by expanding production.
“In the first deliberations of the Board of Directors, we revised the proposed guidelines for strategic planning. Pre-Salt remains the flagship.

There are similar investment plans in Reduc (RJ), Replan (SP), Regap (MG) and Rnest (PE). Production could reach 21 million liters per day between 2025 and 2026,” the report confirms.
