According to GE, the city of Orlando in the state of Florida appears to be the new alternative to host the clash between Palmeiras and Flamengo, which is worth the first trophy of the 2023 season of Brazilian football. The clash is scheduled for January 28.

In addition to the American city, other options in Brazil are being considered: Recife, Salvador and Brasilia, which hosted the first two editions of the competition, bringing together both the Brazilian champion (Palmirás) and the Copa do Brasil champion (Flamengo).

Collective decision

CBF President Ednaldo Rodríguez has already decided that the venue will be jointly decided by the two clubs despite the uncertainty over where the match will be held. That means the city will have the approval of both teams.

In 2022, Atletico-MG complained that the venues selected by the CBF were in squares with the most fans for Flamenco. Under those circumstances, the final ended in Guayaquil, and Calo beat Fla in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in regular time.
