Senators participated in the US capital at the Legislative Forum on Innovations in Democracy, an international debate on new tools to strengthen public participation in the legislative process. The Brazilian delegation was made up of Senators Nelsinho Trot (PSD-MS), Humberto Costa (PT-PE) and Rogerio Carvalho (PT-SE). E-citizenship allows Brazilians to express their opinion on the proposals under discussion, suggest improvements and propose projects.

Senators participated in an international forum in the United States capital to discuss innovations that strengthen public participation in the legislative process. E-citizenship, where Brazilians can comment on the projects under discussion and recommend projects, was a key feature of the meeting. Correspondent Roberto Fragoso. The Legislative Forum on Innovations in Democracy was held from November 14 to 16 in the US capital, Washington DC. Parliamentarians from Germany, Australia, United Kingdom, Argentina and Brazil participated in the event. How the Brazilian representatives – Senators Nelsinho Trott from the PSD of Mato Grosso do Sul, Humberto Costa from the PT from Pernambuco, and Rogerio Carvalho from the PT from Sergipe – presented the e-citizenship plan. Nelsinho Trott explained that the tool, which has been in operation since 2012, was grounded by the migration to remote voting during the pandemic. Humberto Costa said other countries were impressed by the involvement of Brazilian citizens, which in absolute terms already reached a fifth of the total population.
