Vasco is in danger of being excluded from the Brazilian Under-17 and Under-20 League in 2023. This is because participation in the tournament this season took into account the club’s performance in the CBF national rankings. The top 20 teams competed in the competitions, and Vasco was left out of that list.

Last Friday, Vasco was the Carioca Sub-17 champion after beating Flamengo 2-0 in São Januario, in the second leg of the Grand Final – in the first leg, in Javea, the two teams drew 0-0. The team also reached the U-20 state final, but lost to Fluminense.
