Three school students in the capital were diagnosed with monkeypox

This Thursday afternoon, 6, the Maceio Ministry of Health reported that of the cases identified as smallpox, three were registered – confirmed in the first half of September – at a school in Maceió province.

The Municipal Education Department (CEMED) confirmed that registered monkeys with smallpox cases were not in municipal schools. However, after confirming the diagnosis, the municipality took direct and preventive measures to prevent the viral course of the disease.

According to the Maceio Municipal Communications Office, “Classes have been suspended to sterilize all facilities of the school unit, and in cooperation with the school administration, students’ parents have been identified and educational procedures and guidelines on illness planned for professionals in the field and students.”

Among the procedures, the differences between monkeypox and chickenpox (commonly known as chickenpox), which also have skin lesions as its most obvious symptom, have been illustrated.
