United States: Kargil and Burger King are partners in laying the groundwork for reclaiming grazing land

Sao Paulo, 13 – Cargill, a North American agricultural company, has announced a partnership with Burger King Restaurant Chain and the National Fisheries and Wildlife Trust (NFWF), America’s largest private security donor. This collaboration will help farmers who promise climate change through regenerative farming methods in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

According to the companies, the initiative will require up to US $ 5 million to be invested in grazing management and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions south of the Great Plains over a five-year period. The move brings together two major beef brands dedicated to reducing emissions.

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), sustainable grazing practices implemented by farmers over the next five years will have a long-term effect with the potential to deploy up to 360,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Energy to supply 43,000 homes in the United States per year.

“Our farmers and ranchers in North America are already at the forefront of environmental monitoring practices and need additional incentives, tools and training to help measure these practices,” said Heather Dancy, Vice President, Environmental Sustainability, Kargil. Source: Dow Jones Newswire.
