The actress admitted that she began to chase after the man and sought help from other people around her, because she believed that she would not be able to save the animal on her own. When a group of men chased after the attacker, Malone returned to her car and drove toward the fray.

“6 streets away from where the chase began, a large group had gathered and it seemed like the man didn’t have the dog anymore. So I stopped to make sure the dog would be taken care of. I didn’t watch the fight, but I was told the guy didn’t give in to the dog without a fight.”
