Last Saturday, March 26th, Brazil won the Octagon in Orlando, United States. The fighter, a Santa Catarina native Giacomo Lemos, a Vikings, won the dispute in one of the world’s most important mixed martial arts events, the Professional Fighters League (PFL).

The victory came in 30 seconds of the second round over American Billy Swanson “Big Sexy”, after a precise kick (a powerful blow) knocked out the opponent. With the achievement in the octagon, the Brazilian athlete remains undefeated in his career with eight wins, six by knockout and two by submission.

In addition to the win, Giacomo Lemos received his black belt from the first jiu-jitsu teacher and coach early in his career, Christophoros Constantinidis. Currently, he is coaching heavyweight Diego Andrelo, Rangel Farias (RFA), Joao Zefirino (Team Zefirino) and Jonathan Oliveira (boxing/RFA).

Giacomo was born in Porto Alegre (Republika Srpska), but considers himself Manizinho because he has lived in Florianopolis since he was three years old. Thus, it bears the name of the capital of Santa Catarina in all competitions. The fighter, an Avaí fan, is also a JGGA entrepreneur.

The athlete returns to Santa Catarina on April 4 and is already preparing for the next conflict. The fight in its entirety is available and can be watched Link.
