Corinthians announces contract renewal for midfielder Rooney

Corinthians announced, on Wednesday, the renewal of the contract of midfielder Rooney, who makes up the club’s youth teams, and who is now part of the professional team. The contract, previously in effect until the end of this year, has been extended until the end of 2024.

Corinthians posted on their social networks “Renew! #FilhoDoTerrão Roni has extended its ties with Timão until the end of 2024”.

The new agreement was already underway since the beginning of the month. March. At that time, the club had already solved significant obstacles and was waiting for the result of bureaucratic issues to sign the bond. Corinthians talks with the steering wheel for renewal began at the end of last year.

Rooney was promoted to the Corinthians professional squad in 2020, still while on temporary work as coach Diego Coelho. In 47 matches, he scored four goals for the professional Timão team. He began his career in Corinthians in 2004, at the age of five, in futsal at Parque São Jorge club.

With the announcement of Rooney’s renewal, Corinthians ensure another contract extension for athletes from the basic categories. From the beginning of the Duilio Monteiro Alves administration, Gustavo Mantuan, João Victor, Raul Gustavo, Vitinho, Varanda, Du Queiroz and Lucas Piton renewed their relationships.
