The United States and ANAC form a training partnership for airport security in Brazil

Test equipment for detection of prohibited substances was donated to ANAC as the initial phase of the project

Brasilia, March 29, 2022: The United States Transport Security Agency (DSA), a unit of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) today, March 29, to provide training in airport security in Brazil. The program supports ANAC’s new regulation to implement a robust prohibited item detection testing program and meets international civil aviation organization (ICAO) standards. The signing of the letter took place in Brasilia and was attended by TSA Adidas, Tere Francisci in Brazil and Juliano Noman, CEO of ANAC.

The training program, prepared for the Brazilian Civil Aviation Department, will bring TSA experts to the country and enhance the training of agents from various aviation sectors. In addition, the TSA provided testing equipment to detect prohibited items to carry out this training and future testing by Brazilian airports conducted by the ANAC and the Federal Police.

“Security is a priority on our bilateral agenda with Brazil. The exchange of experience, in this and many other fields, further strengthens our partnership and guarantees the safety of our passengers, “said TSA Adidas Terre Francisi.

The project aims to expand good relations and partnerships with the ANAC and the Federal Police, increase the quality of security nationally and globally, and ensure that international airports can reduce illegal interference.
