In its second match under the leadership of coach Ramon Menezes, the Brazilian national under-20 team crushed the Bahia team of the same category 5-0, today (26), at Paradao Stadium. The highlight of the friendly match was Matthews Fransa of Flamengo and Marcos Leonardo of Santos, who scored two goals each. Giovanni of Palmeiras completed the scoring.
Previously, the U-20 team had already beaten Knaya 1-0, and the goal was scored by Marcos Leonardo. There is still another match left from this preparation period on Tuesday (29) against Vitoria – the club that made Ramon history as an athlete and was coach last year.
The current U-20 team consists of players born in 2003 and 2004 who are preparing for the South American Championship in the category to be held at the beginning of 2023. This competition is a qualifying competition for the World Cup, which will also be held in Indonesia next year.
In this friendly match against Bahia, the Brazilian team had already won 3-0 before the 15th minute of the first half, with Giovanni passing two goals from Marcos Leonardo and Matthews Franca and then another by the Flamengo player. In the second half, Giovanni scored a pass from Andre from VascoMarcos Leonardo closed the defeat 5-0 with a free kick.
