Surely the question that many “Inventing Anna” viewers may have asked when watching the Netflix production is: “Where are Anna’s friends now?”. The fact that the series is based on real events makes our curiosity more eager to know where these people are, if they look like the characters in the series, if they have a social network, etc.

The limited-edition nine-episode series tells part of the story of Anna Sorokin, the fake Russian heiress who has deceived many New York celebrities, bankers, hotels, and socialites, and is discovered by journalist Jessica Pressler. One of Anna Sorokin’s girlfriends, or Anna Delphi, is Nevatari Davis, who appears on the Shonda Rhimes series as the sweet hotel hostess and aspiring filmmaker Neff. In the series, actress Alexis Floyd played the role of Nev.

The real Naftari Davis recently opened up about her friendship with the former Russian heiress. In a recent interview with Vulture, she said that she still talks to Anna Sorokin and that she continues to answer her calls.

“It’s almost like a swing. I have to set limits. Sometimes I don’t answer the phone because I had to tell her I had my freedom,” Navatari Davis said of her friendship with Anna Sorokin.

I won’t be able to answer every phone call from prison. But if I need a pair of underwear or some coconut milk for Thanksgiving, I’ll send it in.”

The director said she needed to “set limits” in her friendship with Anna during the 2019 trial, when she “started losing her mind a bit when it came to being ‘the celebrity’ in prison”.

According to the Vulture article, Navatari Davis now lives in Los Angeles and has changed the frequency of her communications with Anna Sorokin since her return to prison and now works with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New York State.

“We talk as much as we can, which is about once a month now. I spoke to her yesterday, actually. When I have the time, I answer. I try to give her some kind of stamina to keep going because she literally doesn’t have anyone here in the States.”
